What is a Shrub?

Our shrubs are fruit-based concentrates made from local fruit, organic apple cider vinegar, and cane sugar

We love them with soda water! Classic recipe is 1 oz shrub mixed with 4 oz soda water.

Heck yes! Add 1 ounce to your G&T or vodka & soda, there’s no end to recipe possibilities.

Shrubs can be kept on the counter and are a shelf stable product. Once you take your shrubs home and open them, we recommend storing in the fridge as we like our drinks cold.

Our mini bottles contain 4-5 servings, and our regular sized bottles contain 12-14  servings.

We date all our shrubs with a best before date, and this is 12 months out from our manufacturing date.

Our shrubs can’t go bad or develop mold due to the high apple cider vinegar content. However

since we use no additional stabilizers or preservatives, we find that after 12-14 months in the bottle the fruit flavours may begin to fade.

Give it a shake and mix with some soda water and have a taste.  If not to your liking, mix a teaspoon shrub with olive oil and for a salad dressing. Shrubs can also be used in a marinade – the vinegar works as a meat tenderizer and the shrub will add a nice sweet / tart flavour to your meal.

Yes!

We work with local farmers at the time of harvest and buy their fruit that is being refused by grocery stores due to imperfections, misshapen appearance, too big or too small. It all tastes the same!

Only in one flavour – Black Currant. We add a bit of red wine, it is listed as an ingredient and the alcohol by content (ABV) is 1.1%.

We don’t want to over filter, this will remove the pulp (flavour) and mother from the AVC (good stuff). We leave it in the product and over time it can settle at the bottom of bottle as is common with natural beverages.
